Welcome to the LTRC Youth Baseball Spring 2026 season!

Our program focuses on creating a positive, supportive environment where every player gets to participate, learn the fundamentals, and make great memories. With age-appropriate divisions from 4-16, we ensure the game is safe, fun, and challenging for everyone.

We’re excited to kick things off with a few new and exciting additions this year and can’t wait to share them with you. Here’s to a fun, positive, and memorable season for our players, families, and coaches.

Proof of age will be required to be uploaded for all participants prior to being placed on a team.

General Information

What does LTRC stand for?

• LTRC stands for the Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council.

What is the LTRC Baseball program's goal?

• The program aims for the enjoyment of youth to develop their baseball skills, foster good sportsmanship, and balance talent among teams for fair competition.

What types of programs are offered?

• LTRC offers both an in-house program (for skill development and sportsmanship) and a more competitive travel program.

Registration and Eligibility

How do I register my child?

• All registration is done online through Crossbar. There is no walk-in or mail-in registration.

What are the age groups for participants?

• The in-house program typically includes players ages 4-16, with specific leagues like 4-5 Clinic, 6-7 Clinic, 8 Prep, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-16 age divisions. For the spring season, age is generally calculated as of April 30th of the current year.

When does the season run?

• The spring season generally begins the first week of April and ends in June, around the end of the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) school year.

What is the refund policy?

• There are generally no refunds issued for registration fees.

What are the bat guidelines for the league?

• Please refer to our official League Info page ( https://ltrcbaseball.org/league-

info/) for the most current bat regulations.

Can my child play up an age group?

• For the safety and optimal development of all participants, our league strictly enforces age divisions based on birth certificates. Players must register and play within their designated age group; no exceptions will be made.

Can we request a specific coach or to be on the same team as a certain player?

• In efforts to uphold competitive balance, we will not be accepting player or coach request for the 2026 season. Additional reasoning includes

• Promoting Fair Competition: The primary reason is to prevent coaches from assembling highly competitive teams with an unfair advantage, which can lead to one-sided games and a less enjoyable experience for everyone. Random assignment or a balanced draft process helps distribute talent evenly across all teams.
• Encouraging Player Development and Socialization: Playing with new teammates and different coaches help children develop a broader range of social skills, adapt to different coaching styles, and make new friends beyond their existing social circles.
• Reducing Administrative Burden: Accommodating numerous, and sometimes conflicting, requests (e.g., when many families request the same coach or player) is a significant logistical challenge for league organizers. A no-request policy simplifies the team formation process.

Rules and Equipment

What equipment is required?

• Players typically need a glove and cleats. Other equipment like bats, uniforms,

catcher’s equipment and helmets are provided. Personal gear is welcome, but must adhere to league rules.

Are there specific rules about playing time?

• Yes, every player must play at least three full defensive innings of every six or more-inning game, provided they are physically able.

Umpiring

How can I become an umpire?

• To be eligible, you must be at least 13 years old (by June 15th of the current season) and attend required training classes. Umpiring offers a flexible schedule and an opportunity to earn money and learn more about the game.
